Network Neurosis, 2018

Network Neurosis was a multi-media installation on display at the Esplanade tunnel from June to November 2018. The artwork explored themes of technological addiction and unique social media phenomena, such as fake news and click bait articles.

Using the entire stretch of the tunnel as a physical representation of a social media feed, we wanted the viewer to be bombarded with constant imagery and video loops, just as how they would if they were scrolling through their devices. On top of that, we incorporated the use of notification pings and ringtones for added stimuli.

Through the artwork, we wanted to bring awareness to the addiction of social media and technology, and to question the legitimacy of certain online media outlets.
